It's time again for the Rainy Lake Fishing Report!
Current Report - July 27, 2010
Rainy Lake walleye have moved to the midlake reefs and humps and crawlers and leeches are working well with spinners in a little chop, jigs and minnows if it’s calm. Smallmouth bass are going for lures resembling crayfish and northern pike are hitting on flashy lures from the weedy edges of bays. From reports, it doesn’t matter if you favor the east or west side of Brule Narrows, the fishing has been better than average over the whole lake.
Rainy River fishing has improved as the water levels have improved, smallmouth can be caught in the slower bends of the river and the walleye bite is pretty good in the waters below Ranier Rapids, the Dam at the Falls and near the mouth of the Littlefork River.
Berries of all types are ripe and ready for picking. Bring bug spray.
For the most up-to-date information you can call the International Falls, Ranier and Rainy Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau at
